Eibin Otsu – The Heart Wishing to Tell –

Eibin Otsu was born in 1943 in Kumamoto city, and spent a boyhood in Omuta city of Fukuoka Prefecture. He studied at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and after the completion of graduate school, he exhibited his paintings at the Dokuritsu and other exhibitions, and hold the spotlight in the painting circles. During the 1970’s, he painted fantastic pieces called mari(ball) series, which comes from the memory of boyhood, then, after his visiting to France with his family in 1979, Otsu begun to the series of his two daughters. Since this period, Otsu has painted works which is showing growing up of his daughters and his family.

In this exhibition, we will exhibit his early works, including mari series, the series of his two daughters, and his late works, including landscape paintings that he works on in recent years and the prize received work “The Heaven and the Earth”. We will outlook on the art of Eibin Otsu by 65 works.
