Chefs-d’œuvre du Musée des Beaux-Arts de Reims

This exhibition showcases a collection from Le Musée des Beaux-Arts de Reims in the Champagne region in the north-east of France. Le Musée des Beaux-Arts de Reims is located in the old capital Reims which is famous for its cathedral where French kings were coronated, and it has a wide-ranging collection spanning from early Renaissance to modern times. The exhibition displays around 70 pieces which have been selected from works owned by Le Musée des Beaux-Arts de Reims, from the 17th to 20th centuries, and follows the history of magnificent French paintings. A collection of paintings from the painter Léonard Foujita (Tsuguharu Foujita) from Japan who has a deep connection with the city of Reims is also on display.

*Drawings for La Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix, or Capelle Foujita, are displayed.
La Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix is a chapel which was built in Reims based on Foujita’s proposal. The inside is decorated with Foujita’s fresco paintings and stained glasses.
